Cherry Mobile Omega Lite 4 will be one of the first phones to be updated with Android Pie (Go edition)

Yesterday, Google unleashed the Android 9 Pie (Go edition) as the upgrade of the Oreo (Go edition) last year. It is designed to provide "seamless" experience for entry-level smartphone users.
Omega Lite 4 is included!

Basically, it is the lighter version of Android Pie with faster boot time, data saving features, and default "Go" versions of popular apps which is smaller than their regular counterparts.

It include: Google Assistant, Maps, Gmail, YouTube Go, and etc.

One of the very first who will get the Android Pie (Go edition) update is from Cherry Mobile. It is the Omega Lite 4.

For those who missed our report, the Omega Lite 4 is one of the cheapest in the world with an 18:9 screen. 

It boasts 5-inch 18:9 FWVGA+ 960 x 480 TrueView screen at 215 ppi.

Inside, this budget phone also has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB expandable to 64GB storage, 2,000mAh battery, 8MP main camera w/ AF and LED flash, 5MP selfie shooter, 3G WiFi 802.11b/g/n, HSPA+ connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, and dual SIM card slots.

It is priced at USD 57 or PHP 2,999.

Currently, the Omega Lite 4 still runs with the older Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition). But once the update is out, it will be one of the first to get the Android 9 Pie (Go edition) OS.
