It feels like a high-end device. There's no mention of glass protection from Gorilla Glass and etc. though. It has no resistance against water splash as well.

Initial findings

Sturdy metal back |
1. It looks premium and it feels premium which is a great thing. The screen is 10.1-inch big with FHD resolution which should be great for your viewing pleasure. So far I find its picture quality to be great for viewing your favorite content and watching videos.
It even has the ClariVu technology with 5 enhanced eye-comfort modes like the Optimal Distance Reminder, Posture Guidance, Intelligent Light Adjustment, Blue Ray Filter and Usage Time Control.

Decent speed? |
2. The MediaPad M5 lite has an upgraded Kirin 659 octa-core CPU coming from the Kirin 950 of the MediaPad M3 last year. But the Mali-T830 GPU of this tablet is considered as weaker versus the Mali-T880 MP4 of the M3.
It still has 4GB RAM, but the storage is now bigger at 64GB. It is also expandable via microSD card up to 256GB.
The battery is also HUGE. It features a 7,500mAh battery with 9V/2A fast charging. It can fully charge the tablet in 2 hours and 54 minutes.
3. It is one of the few tablets with Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 skin. It looks similar to the UI of smartphones with EMUI skin. There is an option where you can use the mode with no app drawer and with app drawer. It has few pre-installed apps though most of them are uninstallable.

Decent cameras? |
4. This tablet has a pair of 8MP f/2.0 sensors. It has autofocus at the back and fixed-focus lens in front. What we like is the back camera goes with a lot of features found on Huawei smartphones. It even has a pro mode and light painting mode.
5. This tablet has an LED notification beside the selfie camera. As expected, the fingerprint scanner is blazing fast. The audio quality is superb so far. It has one of the loudest and fullest audio I tested on a tablet yet. The pen could be useful if you like to write and draw a lot. It is quite responsive so far.

Entertainment on the go! |
It is a great multimedia machine that offers a more immersive entertainment on the go.
The screen is great for watching videos and more, audio is amazing, and battery life is huge. The pen is also quite useful as I can use it for jotting down notes and more.
So far, the MediaPad M5 Lite is a promising tablet which serves its purpose well.
