Continuing with our MWC 2019 coverage, LG announced their flagship G8 ThinQ smartphone with triple camera at the back and Snapdragon 855.

The LG G8 ThinQ has a 6.1-inch QHD+ FullVision OLED screen at 3120 x 1440 resolution and a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. Inside it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, Adreno 640 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 expandable storage and a 3,500mAh battery.

For cameras, it has a triple rear camera setup, with a 12MP f/1.8 78-degree lens + 16MP f/1.9 107-degree super wide camera + 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens and LED flash. For selfies, it has an 8MP f/1.7 camera with ToF sensor.

There are also a lot of welcome features with the LG G8 ThinQ. For starters, it has a 3.55mm headphone jack with a 32-bit Advanced HiFi Quad DAC and DTS:X 3D Surround Sound. It also has a Boombox stereo speaker. It is also IP68 water and dust resistant.

A new feature is the Hand ID which can recognize the owner by using the shape, thickness and individual characteristcs of the veins in the palms of their hands to unlock the phone. Also, there is Video Portrait that lets you control the bokeh while filming a video in Portrait Mode with the help of Dual FOV technology.

Price and availability

The LG G8 ThinQ comes in Carmine Red, New Aurora Black, and New Moroccan Blue colors. There is a version with only two cameras at the back set to available in select regions. It is expected to be available in March 2019 but there are no word about the pricing just yet. We will update you as soon as more information becomes available.
