We have all been in a situation where there are no enough power outlets. Sometimes there will be three devices in need of a charge but there are only two spots on a power strip or wall socket available.

In terms of design, it has a mix of matte and glossy finish. It has some d-power branding as well as Quick Charge 3.0 written on one side with a muted gray font. The two USB ports are color coded with green being the standard port while the red one being the Quick Charge port.

The d-power QA-05 has two USB ports that can accommodate two devices at once. Yes, this is not an innovative feature as there are a lot of power adapters that has more ports including d-power's IP988 4-port wall adapter. But, it has an additional feature to point out its support for Quick Charge 3.0 and Huawei Super Charge.

The QA-05 has an input of 100 to 240v at 50 to 60Hz. In terms of output it has 5V/4A at max. In terms of size, its not that much bigger or heavier than normal. It is an average sized wall charger with an additional port and Quick Charge support which for me is a big plus.

In terms of charging time, it charges my Huawei Nova 2i a bit faster than my original charger. It cuts about 10 to 15 minutes of charge time and this is with the normal charging port since my phone does not support any of the fast charge technology the QA-05 offers.

It charges the d-power S15PD 24,000mAh power bank through its Quick Charge 3.0 port in over 5 hours from 0 percent to 99 percent. This is a lot faster than the normal port where it charged for over 6 hours and 30 minutes.

One thing that I noticed is that when you are using the Quick Charge port, it gets very hot pretty fast. It is alarmingly hot too. Fortunately, with the normal port, the temperature stays manageable.

Our thoughts

Other than the thermals, I am happy with the performance the d-power QA-05 wall charger has given me.

It has been my daily charger for more or less a month now and I am satisfied with it. The convenience of having two ports proved useful when I needed to charge two devices at once. The inclusion of Quick Charge 3.0 is great especially if you have a device that can utilize it.

For just, PHP 399, it gets a recommendation from us.
