OPPO recently made the Reno official in the Philippines. At PHP 26,990, it is the more affordable sibling of the PHP 45,990 Reno 10x Zoom.

Like its bigger brother, it comes with a meticulously crafted design, unique pop-up camera system, and powerful cameras.

Now, let's check its highlights and see if it is a device that you should consider.

5 reasons why OPPO Reno might be the one for you

Premium build
Premium build

1. Unique and premium aesthetics - Like the Reno 10x Zoom, Reno sports a Gorilla Glass 5 curved back design with gorgeous matte finish. It also comes with a build with no camera hump at the back unlike most smartphones regardless of price today. That is pretty impressive for a mid-range device with a large main camera system.

It also comes with a full screen design made possible by a unique shark fin-like pop-up camera system. The pop-up camera carries the 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter and the earpiece in front and the LED flash at the back.

2. AMOLED true full screen design - Like what we mentioned earlier, OPPO Reno has a true full screen design. It uses a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with punchy color reproduction, Gorilla Glass 6 protection, and FHD+ 2340 x 1080 resolution.

Since it comes with a pop-up camera design, it has no notch. It resulted to an amazing 93.1 percent of screen-to-body ratio with tiny bezels.

The result is a more immersive viewing experience.

3. Massive storage - Aside from its ample 6GB RAM, OPPO Reno rocks a massive 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. It is non-expandable, but 256GB is 256GB. It is HUGE! Is is probably the only phone at this price point with 256GB base storage.

4. VOOC flash charge - OPPO Reno uses 3,765mAh with 20W VOOC 3.0 flash charge solution. It doesn't have wireless charging, but its VOOC 3.0 charging tech can fully charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent under 1.15 hours. That's impressive and it can save you a lot of time.

5. 48MP primary shooter - The Reno is also packed with a powerful 48MP f/1.7 Sony IMX586 with PDAF and CAF. It is even aided by 5MP depth camera. By the way, the 16MP selfie shooter is also quite good.

Like what we said in our impressions article, OPPO Reno is a mid-ranger with flagship-grade build, features, and cameras.

Only its Snapdragon 710 chip (a decent mid-range processor) is not flagship-worthy.
