Sony announces the A7rIV with a 61MP Full-Frame sensor with up to 15-stops of dynamic range and up to 10 fps!

Sony A7rIV is now official!

At Sony's New York event, the Japanese giant has introduced what they refer as a new milestone: the A7rIV (the 'R' standing for resolution) with a 61MP Full-Frame with the new BIONZ X imaging processor that promises up to 15-stops of dynamic range at up to 10 fps with full AF/AE tracking. It has an ISO range of 100-3200.

Seventy-four percent of the sensor is covered with 567 Phase-detection AF points and 425-point contrast-detect AF that allow for real-time Eye AF for stills and for video that tracks humans and animals. It features a APS-C crop mode where it is covered completely with the Phase-detection AF points.

The EVF has been upgraded to a 5.76M dot UXGA OLED viewfinder. 

The camera shoots 4K with S-Log2/3 HDR. It features full sensor readout 4K video recording (No Pixel binning) in Super 35 mode. 

At the side are the Dual UHS-II SD card slots along with a new USB Type-C port. In front is the FE-Moun that how has 52 native lenses while at the back is a new reconfigured control layout and a 2.95-inch 1.44M-dot TFT display.

It features up to 5.5-stops of 5-axis Image sensor-shift compensation and uses the reliable NP-FZ100 battery that is rated for 530 shots per charge or 90 minutes of recording time.

Price and Availability


It is priced at USD 3500 (around PHP 178K) without taxes and duties, and will be available in September 2019!

There is no word yet on pricing and availability in the Philippines.
