Realme 5 Pro is an improvement from its previous iteration in terms of design. It now uses a more stylish looking glasstic material for its back panel coming from the plain glossy finish of realme 3 Pro. It also has Gorilla Glass 3+ protection.

Both devices offer good looking and premium-feeling design. Both devices have Gorilla Glass protection with Redmi sporting version 5 while realme sports version 3+. Both devices offer water splash resistance.

The slight edge is with Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Specs - The Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a 12nm 2.05GHz Helio G90T octa-core processor and Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU while realme 5 Pro has the 10nm 2.3GHz Snapdragon 712 processor with an Adreno 616 GPU.

Our thoughts

Redmi Note 8 Pro makes a great bid with its bigger screen, a faster chip, a bigger battery, a 64MP main camera sensor, as well as a wider array of supported fast charging tech.

But we cannot underestimate the realme 5 Pro, it is a great choice as well. The 48MP Sony sensor it has could perform better in real life. It also has a nicer 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie shooter.

We'll do an actual comparison.
