Sony Xperia 8 mid-ranger with 21:9 screen announced!

In its home country Japan, Sony has launched Xperia 8. It's a smartphone packed with a cinematic display, mid-range specs, and multiple cameras.

In particular, it uses a neat-looking back design with IPX5/8 water-resistance/IP6X dust-resistance and a 6-inch 21:9 FHD+ display protected by Gorilla Glass 6.

Inside, it runs with the aging Snapdragon 630 chip paired with Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and 2,760mAh battery with fast charging support via USB-C port.

For the cameras, it uses a 12MP f/1.8 main cam with EIS paired with an 8MP f/2.4 2x optical zoom camera. For selfies, there's an 8MP f/2.0 shooter.

The phone also has a fingerprint reader behind, Sony's High-Resolution Audio, WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5 LE w/ LDAC technology, NFC, GLONASS, and Android 9.0 Pie OS out of the box.

The phone comes in Gray, Black, Orange, and Blue for JPY 54,000 or around PHP 26.2K.

That's pretty expensive for the specs if you will ask me. Unless you want a Sony phone with a 21:9 screen.

It will go on sale in Japan from late October.
