Which telcos provide better deal on internet service?

For you guys, we try to find which telco providers offer a better broadband plan, covering factors like speed, monthly data allowance, landline, location, subscription fees, and promos/bundles.

As we all know, there are currently four big players in the local broadband space—Globe Telecom, PLDT, SKY, and Converge ICT.

The
Globe At Home unli data starts at PHP 1,699 per month for 5 megabits per second (Mbps) to PHP 2,899 per month for internet speed as fast as 100 Mbps.

Aside from unli data plus landline connection, Globe is also offering six-month access to premium entertainment platforms, including DisneyLife, FOX+ and Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Its main competitor PLDT, meanwhile, offers a cheaper 5 Mbps broadband plan at PHP 1,299. Its 20 Mbps plan, on the other hand, is priced at PHP 2,899 per month.

For its Unli Fibr Plans, speed can reach up to 250 Mbps, but users have to cough up PHP 6,299.

SKY, the broadband arm of ABS-CBN, provides Fiber Unli plans with an internet speed of 5 Mbps with just PHP 999 per month, and up to 150 Mbps for PHP 3,499 a month.

Converge ICT's unli data Fiber X plans offers 25 Mbps for PHP 1,500 per month, PHP 2,500 for 75 Mbps, and PHP 3,500 for 150 Mbps.

While it is true that Globe's broadband plans, particularly for the 5 Mbps segment, are a bit pricier than Sky or PLDT, the former offers six-month access to three streaming apps. This means PHP 4,188 savings in three months if you opt to subscribe to Globe's broadband plans.

SKY and Converge, meanwhile, still need to keep up with the nationwide coverage of both PLDT and Globe.

So if you are planning to avail or shift to a different service provider, it is advisable to make sure they offer broadband services in your area.
