Redmi Note 8 Pro captured DSLR-like outdoor and indoor portrait shots

Alvin Baloloy's shots have proven that with the right skills, creativity, and a capable smartphone you can do shoots inside your home. Mr. Baloloy mentioned that the main goal of the shoot is to produce photos that look like they were taken by DSLRs.

Mr. Baloloy is a full-time researcher in UP Diliman and photography is his part-time hobby.

Moreover, according to him, it was his first time to use his Redmi Note 8 Pro for mobile photography.
Indoor portraits

For the outdoor shots, Mr. Baloloy and his co-photographer maximized the benefit of natural lighting. Meanwhile, they utilized a ring light for indoor photography. In addition to that, they used some props like plastic flowers.

To create depth in their output, they positioned the flowers near the lens of the Note 8 Pro. As a result, they were able to produce artistic background blur.

He noted on his post about his camera settings, both indoor and outdoor. The 64MP camera mode was used for indoor. Meanwhile, he used Portrait mode with > f/7.0. After that, he did some minor editing on the raw photos on Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.

Just to recap, Redmi Note 8 Pro is one of the first to feature Samsung's 64MP f/1.8  Bright GW1 sensor with 4-in-1 pixel binning technology. This camera sensor is designed to produce capable images from a mobile phone from nearly all lighting scenarios.

The main camera is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth cameras. The macro sensor can do up to 2cm close-up shots. 2cm is the closest on a phone yet. For selfies, it has a 20MP snapper.
