Tokyo 2020 Olympics was postponed

In an official statement by Japanese mobile telco operator, NTT Docomo said that the company was preparing for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Athlete Edition for its July 2020 release. But because the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be postponed, the NTT Docomo has decided to cancel the special edition Galaxy smartphone.

The special edition model of the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy Buds+ comes in brilliant Gold color with the Olympic Games branding. It was originally planned to be an exclusive at the massive sports event in Tokyo. 

Samsung and NTT Docomo are likely preparing for a new Olympic Games Athlete Edition for the newly scheduled Tokyo Olympics 2021 as Samsung is a major sponsor of the event. There is no information yet that confirms a new model.
