DispayMate: iPhone 12 Pro Max achieves the highest A+ display rating yet

DisplayMate today revealed that the Display Performance score of the new iPhone 12 Pro Max and is impressive.

Despite not having a high refresh rate display

According to DisplayMate, Apple's iPhone 12 Pro Max with Super Retina XDR display recorded the "highest ever Display Performance Grade of A+" and the "Best Smartphone Display Award" to best the iPhone 11 Pro last year and even the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and OnePlus 8 Pro.

DisplayMate Tweeted that the said device sets or matches 11 Display Performance Record. The records include 5 that is "Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect" and it has a "Maximum Absolute Color Accuracy" at Standard D65 6500K.

Basically, the iPhone 12 Pro Max achieved the Highest Absolute Color Accuracy (0.9 JNCD), Highest Image Contrast Accuracy and Intensity Scale Accuracy (2.19 Gamma), Smallest Shift in Color Accuracy and Intensity Scale from with the Image Content APL (0.2 JNCD), Smallest Shift in Image Contrast and Intensity Scale with the Image Content APL (0.00 Gamma), Smallest  Change in Peak Luminance with the Image Content Average Picture Level APL (1 percent), Highest Full Screen Brightness for OLED Smartphones (825 nits for 100 percent APL), Highest Full Screen Contrast Rating in Ambient Light (172 at 100 percent APL), Highest Contrast Ratio (Infinite), Lowest Screen Reflectance (4.8 percent), Smallest Brightness Variation with Viewing Angle (27 percent at 30 degrees), and Highest Visible Screen Resolution 2.8K (2778 x 1284)– 4K Does Not appear visually sharper on a Smartphone.

In short, it is the best display found on any smartphone yet according to DisplayMate's standards.

Apple achieved all this feat while having a 60Hz panel instead of the higher 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate screens today.
