Many claim that their phones are built for gaming at affordable price points, but only a few can truly deliver. On paper, the newly announced Infinix GT 30 Pro is one of them.

How? This device is equipped with some of the most powerful specs, features, and software in the affordable mid-range segment. It features a nice 144Hz AMOLED 1.5K gaming display, Dimensity 8350 Ultimate 5.5G chipset with All-Day 120FPS gameplay with no frame drops, and GT Trigger for console-level control and comfort.

As a result, it has been named the MPL Official Tournament Phone and the phone of choice of the MLBB Esports team AURORA.

Let's unbox it.

The handset arrived in an MPL tournament skin carton package with the key features of the device on the back.

Once opened, it'll come with the true box of the phone. Then, it has a smaller carton box showing the SIM ejector tool, paper docs, and a nice-looking grey translucent case.

Next is the handset itself, and it looks very nice for a gaming phone out of the box.

Underneath, it has a 45W USB-A power brick and the USB-A to USB-C data and charging cable.

AND FINALLY, unlike before, where the user needs to install it by themselves, it now comes with a pre-installed screen protector.

The package also has a dedicated Gaming Kit with MagCase and MagCharge Cooler.

It comes with a hard case with magnets and a magnetic cooler. It also has a USB-C to USB-C cable that you can use to charge the magnetic cooler. The MagCharge cooler serves as both a cooler and a wireless charger to support all-day 120fps gaming.

Infinix said that the hard case is durable, scratch-resistant, and thermally optimized, and the magnetic cooler can boost cooling efficiency by 30 percent. Interesting.

Build Quality/Design

Back and front design
Back and front design

I am loving what I'm seeing with 2025 gaming smartphones, including this one. The form factor is like a high-end smartphone with subtle yet stylish hints of gaming and futuristic-inspired patterns, and LED Mechanical Light Waves.

Neat and sleek design, especially for a mid-range gaming-focused smartphone

The material at the back is glass-like, the frame is polycarbonate, and the display is glass with a subtle curve, making it ideal for gaming.

When it comes to durability, Infinix added an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, an upgrade over the IP54 of the GT 20 Pro last year. Moreover, it now has a Gorilla Glass 7i-protected panel with Wet & Greasy Touch support.

Apart from its patterns and lights, the back has a small rectangular camera hump for the dual camera setup with two-tone LED flash.

In front, it has a nice-looking 6.78-inch near-flat panel (slightly curved) with tiny bezels on all corners. The bottom bezel is slightly thicker, but it is very slim for a phone at this price point.

STUNNING display!

The display also has semi-rounded curves on all corners, reminding us of expensive iPhones, and that's a COOL thing, especially at this price point. It also has a top-center punch-hole for the selfie camera and a fast and accurate In-Display fingerprint reader.

On top, it comes with a microphone hole, an IR remote control sensor, and the top speaker.

Below, you will find the ejectable dual SIM tray, another mic, a reversible USB-C port, and the bottom speaker to complete the stereo audio experience.

There is nothing on the left. On the right, you will see volume up and down keys and the power key with a green indicator, as well as the haptic GT Shoulder Triggers.

There is no 3.5mm headphone jack this time, so you may need to purchase a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle to use your favorite wired gaming headphones.

The measures 163.7 x 75.8 x 7.99 mm and weighs 188 grams. For a gaming-focused smartphone with a large 6.78-inch display and 5,500mAh battery capacity, this is considered slim and lightweight.

I am impressed.

Initial Gaming Experience

AnTuTu benchmark score of the phone
AnTuTu benchmark score of the phone

Casual gaming experience on our day one with it is simply GREAT. Even without the thermal case, it didn't heat up while running Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on the maximum settings possible on this phone (Ultra graphics + frame rates 120FPS).

Superb gaming experience so far

We also tried it with a heavier game like the Genshin Impact, even though it is not on the list of optimized games for this phone. Guess what, the experience is also pretty good, considering the

It even passed the 120 FPS in CODM, MLBB, HOK, and PUBG Mobile. Also, it supports up to 144 FPS in Standoff 2.

With the case and cooling fan, while on bypass charging mode, the heat is even less, allowing me to enjoy playing games longer at stable frame rates. Even after hours of casual gaming, the performance is consistently smooth.

I have yet to fully explore its shoulder triggers, but it works so far. I even used it as the shutter/recording key when using the camera app.

Generally, it appears that the company has optimized the experience so far.

The display with up to 144Hz refresh rate appears to be suitable for gaming, the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chip paired with up to 24GB extended RAM is really fast and stable, especially on this level, and even the battery performance is quite strong so far.

As of the moment

Mobile gamers on a tight mid-range budget should watch out for the release of this smartphone.

It looks good, the display is very impressive, the performance is fast and stable, the cooling is nice, and the overall experience is good so far. Even the cameras are more than usable despite the gaming moniker of this phone.

We also noticed that it has plenty of AI functionalities to make the experience and the lives of its users easier.

I am not allowed to mention its price tag yet, but trust me, it will be a game-changer.
