Google reveals that there was a high spike in traffic over a sustained period in 2020 when compared to 2019. As expected, coronavirus and 'how to wear a surgical mask' were two of the top trending searches of 2020 because of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Other noteworthy search items include NBA score, US election 2020, Taal Volcano, and DepEd commons. Interestingly, Filipinos are interested in the US presidential elections and how the drama between Donald Trump and Joe Biden unfolds. NBA related searches are a no surprise as Filipinos have loved Basketball for years. It is unfortunate that early this year, NBA Legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter passed away in 2020.
