2020 has been an interesting year and over the past twelve months, smartphones that offered specs that were found in significantly higher price categories appeared throughout the year and challenged what Filipinos thought they could have in different budget ranges.

Here are our picks for the bang-per-buck smartphones that were officially released in the Philippines from January to December 2020.

2. realme narzo 20 - At PHP 7,999 or PHP 6,999 during flash sales, the narzo 20 is one of the most competitive around. It features a massive 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. Inside is the 8nm 732G octa-core processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1, 64MP quad-rear-cameras, 20MP selfie camera, and 5,160 mAh battery with 33W fast charging via USB-C.

It features the 7nm Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor, Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1, 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging via USB-C. It has a 108MP triple-rear cameras and a 20MP front-facing camera. It is priced at only PHP 24,990 but it has 2020's flagship SoC.

Allow us to also note that its more affordable sibling, the Mi 10T 5G is the most affordable with Snapdragon 865 in town at PHP 19,990.

9. iPhone SE 2020 - One of 2020's surprise release, the iPhone SE 2020 features 2019's flagship SoC A13 Bionic that was found in the iPhone 11 series. It also features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and a 13-hour rated battery. It is running on iOS 13 and is compatible with iOS 14 that was released recently. It offers a great value for iOS fans with a starting price of PHP 26,490 for 64GB of storage.

10. OnePlus 8T - Arrived in October 2020, the PHP 29,990 OnePlus 8T features a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz display. Inside is the 7nm Snapdragon 865 processor, Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1, and 4,500mAh battery with 65W Warp Charge 65. Of course, it has 5G. Overall, it offers great value if you want an alternative to the aforementioned Mi 10T Pro 5G or if you prefer a more refined experience over other brands.
