So, what's next for the Huawei Mate series? |
This news came after a Reuters report stating that the Chinese tech giant is planning to sell their flagship line after selling the HONOR brand.
Huawei officials issued a statement to the Chinese media stating that the company has no plans of selling its mobile phone business and will continue building high-end phones.
The statement sheds some positive light on the future of the company's two flagship smartphone series however the fact that the company has no chipsets for its flagship models is still there. HiSilicon is banned from using TSMC fabs while Qualcomm and MediaTek are prohibited to do any business with Huawei.
As a recap, the Trump administration prevented Huawei from doing business with US companies. US companies need to acquire a license to trade with the Chinese giant but a report came out that these licenses will be revoked as well.
