Almost 500,000 Globe customers are now using 5G devices

The company said it is the "5G leader" in the local telco industry amid its aggressive network builds.

It has expanded the technology to 1,069 across the country, with 5G coverage present in 848 locations in Metro Manila and Rizal.

A total of 221 areas in Visayas and Mindanao are also covered by the latest generation in wireless technology, Globe noted. Globe earlier said it would continue to widen its 5G reach across the country this 2021.

According to Globe, 5G delivers faster speeds, higher bandwidth, and more stable internet connections compared to 4G.

We see our customers consuming more data as their needs change especially with the pandemic. We want them to unlock the many possibilities and potential that 5G technology brings, and Globe is committed to giving them superior technology to create the quality of lives they want, said Coco Domingo, Globe’s VP for Postpaid and International.

The Ayala-led telco has also made its 5G service available abroad with the launch of 5G Roaming in Thailand via AIS. Soon, the 5G roaming service will be rolled out in more key markets in Asia, Middle East, North America, and Europe.
