Huawei nova 8 4G with Kirin 985 SoC and 66W fast charge announced

In China, tech giant Huawei has released a version of the nova 8 Pro without 5G. This is one of the few smartphones that the company released this year.

For specs, there are several similarities. The phone also has a 6.72-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ 2676 x 1236 resolution, a pill-shaped punch-hole for the 32MP main selfie shooter + 16MP ultra-wide camera, and an In-Display fingerprint scanner for biometrics.

Inside, the Huawei nova 8 Pro 4G uses the 4G version of the 7nm Kirin 985 SoC with Mali-G77 GPU + NPU + micro-core NPU instead of the one with 5G.

The chip of the device is aided by 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with a USB-C 66W charger using its bundled power brick. This can charge the device from 0 to 60 percent in 15 minutes and 0 to 100 percent in 20 minutes.

For the back cameras, you will be greeted by its 64MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor.

It also has a dual-band WiFI, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS (L1 + L5), A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou (B1I + B1C + B2a + B2b quad frequency), GALILEO (E1 + E5a + E5b triple frequency) / QZSS (L1 + L5 dual frequency) / NavIC, and dual SIM slots.
This runs with EMUI 11.0 skin based on Android 10 OS.

The device measures 163.32 x 74.08 x 7.85 mm and weighs 184 grams.

Huawei has yet to reveal its official pricing. But expect it to be more affordable than its 5G counterpart.
