DxOMark camera score of OnePlus 9 Pro |
According to DxOMark, the OnePlus 9 Pro with Hasselblad-enhanced cameras is a good "Good value flagship" camera phone.
It got a score of 129 points for Photo, 68 for Zoom, and 108 for Video for an average score of 124 points.
At 124, the OnePlus 9 Pro achieved a higher camera score than the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini with 122 points. It is also higher than both the Snapdragon and Exynos variants of the Galaxy S21 Ultra with 123 and 121 points, respectively. In total, it is the 14th highest score at the testing site as of writing.
It is a good score, but it falls short of the current leader Mi 11 Ultra with 143 and Mate 40 Pro+ with 139.
DxOMark noted that it has mostly accurate white balance in all conditions with a high level of detail, reliable exposure preview, accurate target exposure and wide range in videos, fast and accurate video autofocus, and effective video stabilization, among others.
But, it has luminance and chroma noise in all conditions and underexposed backlit scenes with limited dynamic range.
An overall score of 124 positions the OnePlus 9 Pro just outside the top 10 in our ranking of the best smartphones for photography. That’s a point better than the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (Snapdragon) at 123, and only a little behind Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max at 130. While the 9 Pro’s price tag places this latest OnePlus price in our ultra-premium price segment, it remains notably cheaper than those Apple and Samsung flagship devices and makes it a good value proposition for smartphone photography enthusiasts.
To recap, the OnePlus 9 Pro will go with a quad-camera setup featuring a 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX789 sensor with OIS, 7P lens + 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor + 2MP monochrome sensor system + 8MP telephoto sensor combination.
