Samsung's 65W PD charger just got a certification from the Danish UL (Demko) authority.
Recently, there are rumors that the South Korean tech giant is also working on a new 65W fast charging technology. Also, there are reports saying this innovation will be used for the highly anticipated Galaxy S22 series.
According to a leak from a tipster, the 65W charger is still in the testing phase. "Rainbow" is allegedly a code word for the upcoming Galaxy S22 lineup wherein R stands for the vanilla model, G is for the Plus variant while B refers to the Ultra model.
In February 2021, the 65W charger received certification from TÜV SÜD. The source claims that it is the same charger with model number EP-TA865. It was already certified by South Korea's NRRA certification in September last year.
The certification process shows that the charger will have a maximum output rate of 20V/3.25A. Aside from that, it will support the latest USB-IF PD (Power Delivery) standard that includes a specification called Programmable Power Supply (PPS).
The charger's most recent certification from the Danish UL (Demko) authority was posted on Twitter by a leaker with the username Debayan Roy (Gadgetsdata). The certification reaffirmed all the specs mentioned above.
Moreover, also revealed that the 65W PD charger is a versatile cone since it can produce 5V, 9V, and 15V output. This means it can be easily used for other devices such as laptops.
However, note that these are just valid assumptions so we have to wait for Samsung's confirmation yet.
