This is the Infinix HOT 10S MLBB Edition

It is not the first time Infinix made a collaboration with Mobile Legends Bang Bang to reach out to the mobile gaming community. Just last week, the first MLBB Showdown took place and will transpire every Friday until July 23. Participants of this event may win worth 10,000 MLBB diamonds or Infinix items such as Infinix earphones, and their budget gaming phone Infinix HOT 10S.

We've known about this device for a few days now and let’s see if it is really legendary!

Meet Infinix HOT 10S MLBB Limited Edition

The Infinix HOT10S MLBB Limited Edition comes in a special black box with the Infinix and Mobile Legends branding, and a photo of ML Hero Chou in front.

Inside the box is the handset itself with a matte plastic cover printed with a similar print to its box, along with the key specifications.

There’s also a micro USB cable, 10W charger, power cable, screen protector, bumper case, and documentation. Sadly, it has no wired earphones included, unlike the regular HOT 10S.
The back design
The back design

To recap, the regular HOT 10S has a 2.5D curved glass screen in front and a 3D curved glasstic back. HOT 10S MLBB Edition sports the same and Infinix made no changes with its build.

It still goes with the quad-rear camera hump and a fingerprint scanner on the back. It has the same slim sides and top bezels and a thicker chin bezel, with the contents on the bezels remaining similar to the regular HOT 10S.

A unique print that screams LEGENDARY at the back!

The model we have is in Black color, we have yet to confirm if it is available in other colors. It has the same glittery diamond pattern the regular version has. However, the back design now has a unique print that screams LEGENDARY, along with the Infinix and Mobile Legends branding. This is a real crowd-pleaser especially if you're a fan of the game

Sad to say, the themed box and the customized rear design are the only Mobile Legends you will see on this phone. There are no custom wallpapers or themes. There is also no pre-installed game of the said branding.

The rest of the specs? Same as the regular version. This device is still equipped with a large 6.82-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate (decent, but it is at 720p), MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor, Mali-G52 GPU, 6GB RAM, 128GB of storage, 6,000mAh battery, and 10W charging via micro USB.

Quick thoughts

MLBB settings

Nearly all of the features of the HOT 10S MLBB Edition are identical to the regular Infinix HOT 10S.

The only difference is that this has a special box and a rear design that caters specifically to MLBB fans. If you’re one of those who enjoy playing Mobile Legends, then this is one of the phones you can fashionably show off to your friends or family. Also, the MLBB Edition is only available in the 6GB/128GB variant.

Is it good that it retained its specs? In a way, yes. As they said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". These specs are actually looking good at this price point. The dedicated gaming chipset (Helio G85), ample ram (6GB), and expandable storage (128GB) combined make it an ideal fit and a sure treat for casual and avid gamers on a budget.

On the other hand, a few upgrades will be much appreciated. We would be lying if we didn't expect it to be more MLBB themed with wallpapers and skins, or having a pre-installed Mobile Legends app for a more immersive ML experience.

As of the moment, Mobile Legends only has support for a 180Hz touch sampling rate but does not have one for a 90Hz refresh rate. It would have been better if the 90Hz refresh rate of this device would be useful in playing the game. Also, we look forward to having to play Mobile Legends in Ultra settings using this device since other brands with the same chipset at this price point already have support for the Ultra settings of the game.

We hope that Moonton and Infinix can work it out since this device has a lot of potentials but just need a few tweaks.

Thankfully, it also retained its price of PHP 6,990, the same as the regular HOT 10S 6GB/128GB variant.

Overall, it's great to see mobile companies like Infinix teaming up with the gaming industry to come up with game-themed devices such as this. Hopefully, we'll see more phones like this in the future!
