To recall, the government has been pushing for MNP to allow Filipinos to switch to other telco providers while keeping their mobile numbers.

Melanie Manuel, general manager of TCI, said in a virtual briefing on Friday Globe Telecom, PLDT, and DITO Telecommunity are financing the operations of the company as they prepare for the implementation of the MNP starting September 30.

According to Manuel, the group is doing its best to meet the end-September deadline.

Just this Monday, the telcos said in a joint statement they already conducted their initial tests for the mobile number portability.

The industry players said the outcome is "within expectations."

Manuel said in the press con that the MNP Act will benefit Filipinos as this will further push telcos to enhance their networks.

MNP will encourage competitors to expand their network, improve customer service, and expand products. At the end of the time, ang panalo ay regular Filipinos, Manuel said.
