Globe promises better call experience with VoLTE, VoWifi

In a statement, Globe is hopeful more postpaid subscribers will latch on to the said services as they provide a better telco experience.

Globe continues to rise to the occasion with our VoLTE and VoWiFi technologies that ensure our subscribers have access to better quality calls and faster call connection time, especially when they need it most, said Angeline Po, head of Globe Postpaid.

The VoWifi or WiFi calling allows customers to make calls through WiFi instead of the 3G/LTE network.

Meanwhile, the company earlier explained VoLTE is the standard high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones using 4G LTE instead of the traditional voice networks being used by 2G and 3G.

With VoLTE, Globe assured customers that they will enjoy high-definition voice calls while doing online activities, such as gaming and streaming.

With these new technologies readily available to our customers, choppy and robotic calls are a thing of the past. Especially with VoWiFi, it is now easier to make clearer voice calls without the inconvenience of going outdoors to get a good signal, Po said.

Are you planning to activate your VoWifi and VoLTE? Globe said that for VoWifi, users only need to go to their mobile's "Connection Settings", tap "Wifi Calling", and turn on Wifi as their preferred calling preference.

For VoLTE, on the other hand, customers have to just tap "Voice and Data" in the same setting, then activate "VoLTE".

Activating and using these services are FREE, Globe noted.
