GOMO customers can shift to other telco providers beginning next week

A day after Smart Communications urged the National Telecommunications Commission to look into GOMO's failed participation in the MNP rollout, Globe in a statement Thursday pointed out that even Telecommunications Connectivity, Inc. admitted that the formal launch would face "birth pains".

Globe defended that the group encountered challenges as it covers "multiple brands that have multiple functionalities which are differentiated from our core brands."

The company's core brands including Globe Prepaid, Postpaid, Platinum, and TM have started offering number portability services.

All issues and wins of the MNP service are being discussed at length at the management committee of TCI. All service providers are aware of the challenges currently being experienced. It does seem this complaint is being done in bad faith on the part of Smart, Globe said.

The group also said that GOMO users were informed of its delayed participation in the MNP service.

Globe said it will be prepared to offer the service starting October 12 "without posing additional problems or complications to our customer." It also noted that it has yet to receive a request from a GOMO customer.

We are sincere in our intent to give our mobile customers the ability to choose their favorite provider and we are doing our best to comply. We are also grateful to our customers for choosing Globe over other providers.

What do you guys think?
