Converge working with authorities to lessen fiber cuts
In a Facebook post late last week, Converge ICT CEO Dennis Uy said hundreds of the company's subscribers were affected by the fiber cuts in its network along Pasong Tamo in Makati due to DPWH works.
Uy said that the group is "closely coordinating with the various government agencies and proper authorities to avoid these unnecessary service interruptions."
We urge everyone for their cooperation so that we can serve our people better, especially during this time when internet connectivity has become our lifeline, Uy said.
In a separate post, Uy said services have resumed in San Antonio and Magallanes in Makati.
As of July 2021, the company’s fiber backbone has already reached over 80,500 kilometers while fiber-to-the-home port deployment was at a record 565,848 new ports during the second quarter alone.
The network of Converge, in the first half of 2021, has already passed more than 8.3 million homes, while household coverage stood at 32.5 percent of all households in the Philippines.
