Samsung's devices to get 4 major Android OS updates?

Longer life for Samsung Galaxy devices!

According to rumors, Samsung is working on extending the Android update policy for a number of devices to get three to four major Android updates. As of now, the devices to be eligible for this policy includes the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S22 series, and the Galaxy Tab S8 series. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3 will also benefit from this.

What does this mean for the consumer? With how powerful flagship devices are, 4 years of major Android upgrades means you will not need to upgrade or buy new devices for years. This will also slow down the accumulation of digital waste as well. In addition, all these devices will also receive up to 5 years of security updates.

This improvement would significantly extend the usability of new Galaxy smartphones and tablets. At least, Samsung is giving its customers the option to stay with the device they bought recently or upgrade as soon as a new one comes out.
