Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO iN PH cinemas soon!

This would be the second movie in the "Dragon Ball Super" saga franchise, and the 21st Dragon Ball animated film produced by the Tokyo-based animation studio, Toei Animation.

The story follows the Dragon Ball Super anime series, as well as the events of the blockbuster Dragon Ball Super: Broly feature film, which was shown in theaters about 4 years ago. The film went on to gross over USD 115 million worldwide.

The plot revolves around the two Androids Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 which were created by human followers of 'The Red Ribbon Army', a group previously defeated by Son Goku. These two androids consider themselves 'Super Hero' but they suddenly attacked Piccolo and Gohan.

The Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama is in charge of the original story, screenplay, and character design for this movie. Meanwhile, Tetsuro Kodama is the director then Toei Animation handles the animation production.

The regular cast from the series like Masako Nozawa, Toshio Furukawa, and others will still play their popular Dragon Ball roles. New characters were added such as  Dr. Hedo (voiced by Miyu Iruno) as well as Hiroshi Kamiya and Mamoru Miyano taking the roles of  Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, respectively.

The anime film is already hitting the movie theaters in Japan since June 11. Nine days after its debut, Crunchyroll announced its box-office sales. Allegedly, the Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO has exceeded JPY1.27 billion in gross earnings with over 940,000 tickets sold. 

According to a press release from Crunchy Roll, the Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO will be shown across the globe in both subtitled and dubbed formats. The scope of the movie release includes select countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia (except Japan). 

The "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero" movie is set to debut in the Philippines on August 31. However, there are a few select movie places and IMAX theaters that will show this film on the said date.
