A reliable internet connection has become the top consideration of Filipino consumers during the COVID pandemic. So which telco player provides the most consistent services?
A consistent network?

Is Globe the most consistent network?

Based on a recent report by global analytics firm Ookla, Globe Telecom continued to up its game in the January to March period, logging a 79.4 percent consistency score, higher than its closest competitor.

The figure is a significant increase from a year ago's 70.43 percent, which shows Globe's continuous network rollout to deliver enhanced internet connection to all of its subscribers.

Ookla said the consistency score reflects the telco carrier's data samples that meet minimum download and upload speeds thresholds.

Aside from Ookla's report, independent global standard Opensignal also recognized Globe for having the most consistent mobile quality in the country in the first quarter, securing a rating of 51.6 percent.

These developments came as the telco player maintained its aggressive builds in the period, firing up 234 new cell sites, upgrading 3,500 sites, and installing 380 new 5G sites.

More towns and cities nationwide have also seen improvements in Globe's services, including Metro Manila, Northern and Central Luzon, Calabarzon, cities, and towns in Cebu, the Negros provinces, Iloilo, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, and Sultan Kudarat.

Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu previously said the group considers the report a "win" as this proves its capacity to address connectivity needs.

Constant improvement of our customers' experience is testament to our True North— that is to serve them where it truly matters, from connectivity and beyond, Cu said.

Last year, the company invested PHP 92.8 billion. By 2022, Globe has allotted PHP 89 billion to support its network deployment.

The telco's contribution to beefing up the Philippines' internet state also complements its goal of providing more digital solutions to Filipinos.

And we have gone way beyond telco. With the customers in our hearts, Globe continues to expand as a digital solutions platform. Now, we address our customers' needs beyond telco in the areas of fintech, telehealth, edutech, and a host of many other services geared towards the digital enablement of Filipinos, said Cu.
