China got agitated when the USA Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan. China saw this as a violation of the "One China" policy that states that the US government "acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China". The US made it clear that it does not challenge that position.

As a result, China flew 68 warplanes off the coast of Taiwan, sent warships toward the Strait of Taiwan, and sent drones toward Japan. China also decided to stop talks with the USA regarding different subjects.

Apple is getting a lot of tech supplies in Taiwan primarily via TSMC. Apple wants its Taiwan-based suppliers to adhere to China's new regulations that include labeling supplies as made in Taiwan, China, or Chinese Taipei.

This decision is a result of China's move to halt supplies shipped by Taiwanese suppliers to the Pegatron factory in Suzhou, which manufactures some goods for American companies like Microsoft and Taiwan. Customs in China have halted these shipments, and every piece of paper and shipping container is being scrutinized closely to make sure it doesn't refer to Taiwan or the official title of "Republic of China."

Due to this, Apple made emphasized that delays should not happen in the supply chain since they are nearing the new iPhone 14 series release. Apple may be in a crunch to fix issues as there are reports of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max variants having problems with their displays and camera lenses.

However, Taiwan's government is demanding that all exports sport a label stating that the origin of the shipment is from Taiwan or the Republic of China. This is directly against China's new regulation. Apple is asking its suppliers in Taiwan to create a fallback plan to avoid supply-chain disruptions.

What do you guys think?
