Google Chrome to end support for older-gen Windows!

The announcement is made via the Google support page. As of February 7, 2023, there will no longer be further updates. It will be the last version (Chrome 110) for both older operating systems.

This also aligns with Microsoft's termination of support for Windows 7 and 8.1 extended on January 10th, 2023.

Google says that old Chrome versions will still work however you might encounter security risks for outdated versions.

They continued that all devices must ensure to run at least Windows 10 or later to continue receiving future versions.

If you are currently on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, we encourage you to move to a supported Windows version before that date to ensure you continue to receive the latest security updates and Chrome features, says Google.

So if you're still not using the latest Windows software, you still have around 4 months left to get updated. Currently, Windows 10 seems to be the most stable one while the newly released Windows 11 is about to get Android app support soon.

What do you guys think?
