Comelec "Register Anywhere" project to launch on December 17

The Register Anywhere project will have an initial test in 5 locations in NCR namely SM Fairview in Quezon City, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM South Mall in Las Piñas City, Robinsons Place Manila, and Robinsons Galleria in Quezon City.

In addition to malls, the Comelec is considering including the Pasay City offices of the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Likewise, he stated that more locations for the RAP pilot test, including Bicol and Eastern Visayas, are planned.

Any eligible applicant living anywhere in the Philippines may register under the RAP by visiting one of the RAP booths, presenting their application form and supporting documentation, and having their biometrics taken there.

The project, according to Comelec, aims to help students, workers, OFWs, and seamen who are too busy or preoccupied to go back to their hometowns to register. However, voter registration in embassies that operate from Sunday to Thursday will start on December 11. The overseas voting registration period will run until Sept. 30, 2024
