LRT Line 2 goes pet-friendly
LRTA administrator Hernando Cabrera made the announcement during a public briefing on Thursday.
Beginning February 1, pwede nang magdala at magsakay ng ating mga pets sa mga istasyon at tsaka tren ng LRT Line 2, Cabrera said.
LRT Line 2 initially posted a teaser about this announcement on Wednesday through a social media post.
May mga bago tayong pasahero sa LRT-2! Abangan... LRT Line 2 said.
Cabrera noted there are rules that fur parents should still observe when bringing their fur babies. This includes:
- Making sure their pet is fully vaccinated
- The pet should be kept inside a cage to avoid disturbance
- Pet should wear a diaper
Other usual policies being implemented in pet-friendly establishments will also be observed in LRT Line 2, the official said.
Cabrera also said that only certain sizes of pets will be allowed to ride the LRT Line 2 given that there are still times when trains are packed with passengers.
Prior to this, MRT-3 has been allowing pet owners to transport their pets through the train line’s facilities.
Eventually siguro, we will be able to involve din yung private operator ng (LRT) Line 1 to have the same policy, Cabrera said.
What do you think about this, fur parents?
Pets can bring companionship, comfort, and joy to everyday life, while also creating opportunities for owners to build routines around their care and well-being. A dog care setup may offer a convenient way to support safer and more comfortable travel with a pet, especially when planning outdoor activities or longer journeys. With thoughtful preparation, pets may have a greater chance of enjoying new environments while remaining comfortable and secure during transportation.
