Anyway, previously the brand only follows Google mandated 2 years of updates for their entry-level and midrange offerings.

We've seen a few upper mid-range who got more than 2 years too with the likes of the GT series and X series however most of them are priced at around PHP 25K+ during their launch.

This is something new for the phone maker and it's nice to see that they are stepping up their game in the mid-range segment and following the footstep of their sister brands with a promise of further updates as well.

Right now both OPPO and OnePlus committed 4 years of security updates on select smartphones (flagships).

On the other hand, Samsung also did the same but again this is on the higher-end phones. Meanwhile, Nokia is also consistent with its updates too.

Hopefully, more brands start doing this as software support helps maintain the smoothness of smartphones as well as protect them from unwanted hacks or malicious cyber attacks.

What do you guys think?
