DxOMark: Samsung Galaxy A54 5G cameras scores 107, average in photos but good in videos

Independent international image quality benchmark authority DxOMark labs recently released details of the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G camera score.

The laboratory rates the Galaxy A54 5G's cameras with a score of 107. The cameras excelled in exposure, autofocus, and texture. This is reflected in its high scores when used in outdoor, indoor, and friends and family situations.

According to the detailed results, the phone produces good exposure, decent detail, and accurate and repeatable autofocus in most situations for photos. However, it struggles with white balance and low light. The cameras also were found to produce unwanted artifacts, halo effects, ghosting, and color quantization on moving subjects.

In Video, the phone received high scores in exposure, color, noise levels, and stabilization which yielded an overall score of 115 in the video department.

Overall, DxOmark says that the Galaxy A54 5G delivered an average performance in the High-End device segment. The still images are good in good lighting but struggle in low light. The testers noticed instabilities in exposure, white balance, and unwanted artifacts.

To recap, the recently released Samsung Galaxy A54 5G has the 5nm Samsung Exynos 1380 octa-core processor. At the back are the 50MP f/1.8 primary camera with OIS and PDAF, the 12MP f/2.2 123-degree ultra-wide angle camera, and the 5MP f/2.4 Macro camera with an LED flash. While in front is the 120Hz 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ screen with a punch hole that houses the 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

In the Philippines, its starting price is PHP 24,990 (pesos).
