Compact size, upgraded features
Versus the Zenfone 9 with 9.1mm slimness and 169 grams weight last year, the Zenfone 10 is a bit thicker at 9.4 mm and heavier at 172 grams. But, it retained its compact 146.5 x 68.1 size which should be great for one-handed operation despite the upgrades in specs. |
Made with sustainable materials |
The device features a unique back design in Colors: Midnight Black, Comet White, Eclipse Red, Aurora Green, and Starry Blue colorways. The whole body of the phone is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.
ASUS claims that it is made with eco-friendly bio-based polycarbonate materials.
In front, you get a compact yet upgraded 5.9-inch Gorilla Glass Victus protected Samsung AMOLED screen w/ 144Hz refresh rate (from 120Hz last year), HDR10+, FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution at 446 ppi. For color accuracy, it has Delta-E < 1, 112 percent DCI-P3, 107 percent NTSC, and 151.9 percent sRGB color gamut. The peak brightness is 1,100 nits.
Inside, you also get the new 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core flagship processor with a new generation Adreno GPU. ASUS is calling it Adreno 740, but Qualcomm will likely disagree that it is the official GPU name.
It is paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, and a similar 4,300mAh battery capacity. While its battery has the same mAh as the previous generation, ASUS is claiming that it has a 12.9 percent better battery life.
For charging, you get the 30W PD HyperCharge tech. The upgrade here is it now supports 15W wireless charging.
At the back, it retained the 50MP f/1.9 Sony IMX766 with 2x2 OCL PDAF, 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer, and EIS. But ASUS changed its 12MP Sony sensor into an unspecified 13MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera. There is no mention of its new ultra-wide sensor having AF tech and macro mode. The primary back camera can record up to 8K at 24fps videos.
For selfies, there is a new 32MP RGBW sensor with pixel-binning technology. But, there is no mention of any AF tech as well.
