HUAWEI FreeBuds 5 launches in PH: open buds, 11mm dual drivers, up to 16Hz robust bass, Hi-Res Audio, PHP 7,499 price tag

Technology giant HUAWEI today launched the upgrade of the FreeBuds 4 in the Philippines—FreeBuds 5.

The HUAWEI FreeBuds 5 is highlighting a new droplet design with peanut or bean-like curves for a more ergonomic feel when wearing and an IP54 rating for water splash and dust resistance. It is available in Frost Silver, Ceramic White, and Coral Orange colorways.

Inside, it is using an improved 11mm LCP dual magnetic drivers with support for Hi-Res resolution audio, Spatial audio for that 3D-like surround sound, and 3x microphones with a deep neural network (DNN) algorithm to enhance your voice and reduce background chatter for clearer calls.

By the way, HUAWEI is also boasting that it has a triple adaptive EQ that optimizes sound quality in real-time all the way from 100Hz to 2,000Hz, to eliminate discrepancies caused by ear canal shape, wearing status, and volume level to provide consistently "excellent sound quality."

HUAWEI also claims that it can produce up to 16Hz bass and is 30 percent more sensitive at low frequencies than the FreeBuds 4.

It is also one of the rare open buds with ANC (Open-fit ANC 3.0) tech.

The body of the buds also supports touch controls. It connects via Bluetooth 5.2 with multi-pairing tech.

For battery, each bud can last up to 5 hours of listening and up to 30 hours with a charging case. With ANC, it has up to 3.5 hours and up to 20 hours with the case. It can be charged via a wired USB-C cable on the case or wirelessly using a Qi charging pad.

The HUAWEI FreeBuds 5 will be available in the Philippines for PHP 7,499 starting June 30. To recall, it is PHP 500 more affordable than the PHP 7,999 FreeBuds 4 of 2021.
