Addressing data scraping, system manipulation

Musk has announced that the social media platform will implement the system to discourage "extreme levels" of data scraping and system manipulation.

In a Tweet, the Twitter executive said verified accounts will be limited to reading 6,000 posts a day; unverified accounts to 600 posts a day; and new unverified accounts to 300 posts a day.

Musk then announced in a separate Tweet that these limits were adjusted to 10,000, 1,000, and 500, respectively.

Musk earlier said that hundreds of organizations were scraping Twitter data "extremely aggressively," which affects user experience, according to a report by Reuters.

The billionaire had also expressed displeasure with artificial intelligence firms like OpenAI, the owner of ChatGPT, for using the social media platform’s data to train their large language models.

During the weekend, many users were unable to access the platform.

Reuters said nearly 7,500 Twitter users reported issues with accessing the app during the peak of the outage Saturday morning.
