GCash highlights recent efforts to mitigate cyberattacks and keep fraudsters at bay

To help keep cyberattacks and fraudsters at bay, GCash recently launched the DoubleSafe Face ID security feature. It's an industry-first face recognition technology to ensure that the person accessing an account is the same as the one who registered in GCash.

According to the company, they have saved around 750,000 accounts after the launch of the said feature.

Martha also boasts that they partnered with the government and other organizations to fight cybercrime. They also have the GSafeTayo Campaign to advise people to activate the Double Safe Face ID, educate people to never share MPIN and OTP, and be alert on phishing scams modus.

In total, GCash said that it has barred over 4M fraud accounts, taken down 800 phishing sites, and taken down 45K malicious social media posts.

During the event, Martha also told the attendees that this is just the start of their campaign against scammers and cybercrime. The company said that they are committed to going above and beyond the industry standards to keep the accounts of its user base safe and secure.

This is huge as GCash is currently the biggest mobile wallet app in the country. A lot depends on it in their everyday transactions.
