GCash has announced a new advisory pertaining to users when receiving money.

Gcash Advisory: Notifs will be sent inside the app!
As per the fintech app, beginning August 16, 2023, instead of sending SMS notifications that money has been sent to their users, Gcashh will now send a message directly to the app's inbox.
GCash continued that this is instantly accessible and also available in the app's transaction history.
This is the firm's way as an added security for their valued users. In the comment thread of GCash's Facebook post, they noted that this is to keep their customer safe from text scams which is why the instant confirmation will be moved inside the app.
To recall there have been growing numbers of spam text and calls that may contain malicious links which then could be a way for hackers to gain access to their victim's account.
