Over 300MP camera sensors are coming?

The possible sensors are the 50MP ISOCELL GN6 sensor, 200MP HP7 sensor, 320MP sensor, and 440MP HU1 sensor.

The 50MP ISOCELL GN6 could be the company's first 1-inch sensor to compete with the Sony IMX989. But, it won't be used in Samsung phones. So likely, the Chinese mobile makers will adopt it.

The 200MP HP7 sensor will come with 0.7-micro pixels. It is similar to the 200MP HP2 but with larger pixels. It is said to be initially planned for the S25 Ultra, but it was dropped due to high production costs.

There is also an unnamed 320MP sensor that might be seen with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Some mobile chips today like the Dimensity 9200 support up to 320MP resos.

The last is the 440MP HU1 sensor. It is unknown if the company will use it for mobile phones or other areas like automotive or industrial use cases.

Back in 2020, Samsung said that they are aiming to develop sensors that could be higher than the 500MP of the human eye at 600MP. They might implement the sensor in other rapidly-emerging fields such as autonomous vehicles, IoT, and drones.

There is a chance that the use case for the 440MP sensor is similar to the upcoming 600MP Samsung sensor.

What do you guys think?
