Apart from the Apple Watch 9 Series, Hermes and Nike. Cupertino-based firm also introduces their flagship Watch Ultra 2.
The first thing you would notice is the rugged design and the aerospace-grade titanium unibody with a 49mm case. There's also a protruded shell to protect the screen from any harm as well.
Apple claims this is certified MIL-STD 810H for durability while it is also rated WR100 water resistant and EN 13319-certified, an international diving standard. This means this is suitable for rigorous water activities and can survive up to 40 meters.
Another highlight to point out would be the double-tap gesture which can also be found in the Watch 9 Series. This will allow users to answer calls, and pause, and resume timers without interacting with the device.
Next is the familiar rotating crown and action button that can give instant access to several features.
The display on the other hand features 3,000 of peak brightness so you can view information under sunlight. Of course, the wearable also features 3x microphones and adaptive beamforming so users can have improved calls and reduced background noise. It also uses AI to lessen the wind noise when you are speaking.
When it comes to health features, the device has a heart-rate monitor, ECG Sensor, SpO2 tracker, and menstrual cycle tracker with thermometry for better tracking. It also contains two sensors that reduce female body bias and exterior bias. Additionally, retroactive ovulation estimates can help in family planning.
The new smartwatch also features multi-band dual-frequency GPS for outdoor activities, Pro running features, and a depth gauge for pro swimmers or divers.
All these features are made possible with the help of the new S9 processor which Apple claims can bring a boost in performance. Apple also includes a 2nd gen ultra-wideband chip to enhance the Find My feature, accurate location tracking, and improved battery health.
Speaking of which, the brand claims it will deliver up to 36 hours of battery life under normal usage and up to 72 hours in lower power mode.
When it comes to software, it runs watchOS10 with new widgets, redesigned app icons and a Modular Ultra watch face that will utilize the outer edge of the screen.
