Motorola introduces the new edge 40 neo with a 144Hz 6.55-inch pOLED screen, a Dimensity 7030 SoC, and IP68 water and dust resistance in India.

Motorola claims to have introduced the first smartphone in the world with the MediaTek Dimenisty 7030 octa-core processor; however, the said SoC has similar specifications to the Dimensity 1050.

It will be running on Android 13 and is confirmed to receive two major Android updates and up to 3 years of security updates.

At the back of the phone are the rear camera module and a vegan leather back or matte acrylic options in Pantone-curated colorways while offering IP68 water and dust resistance.

In front is the large 6.55-inch pOLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a 1,300nits peak brightness. 

Alongside the SoC, is the Mali-G610 MC3 GPU, 8GB/12GB LPDRR4X RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 68W TurboPower fast charging via USB-C.

On the upper left corner of the back of the phone is the 50MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS and Quad Pixel technology, and the 13MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide angle camera with macro and LED flash.

While in front is the 32MP f/2.4 selfie camera with Quad Pixel Technology.

Other features include dual nano-SIM support, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, IP68 Water and dust resistance, 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC.

The phone measures 159.6 x 72 x 7.89mm and weighs 170-172 grams. It will come in either Soothing Sea (vegan leather), Caneel Bay (vegan leather), or Black Beauty (acrylic) colorways.

For a limited time only, Indian customers can snag either variant with an INR 3,000 discount. It will be available for purchase in India thru Flipkart this September 28, 2023.
