Dyson said the new Supersonic Nural helps promote healthier hair and scalp through its latest technology.

"Style your hair without damaging it"

Last March 18, Founder and Chief Engineer James Dyson revealed the brand's new Supersonic Nural hair dryer during the global launch event in Seoul, South Korea.

He said the latest styling tool from Dyson "has a time of flight sensor which recognizes your head and reduces the heat as it gets close to your hair, preventing heat damage to both your scalp and your hair."

Supersonic Nural's features are:

  • Scalp protect mode protects scalp health: In this mode, heat is automatically reduced to 55 degrees Celcius, the optimum temperature for scalp comfort and drying speed, as the hair dryer gets closer to the hair and scalp. This was made possible through the flight sensor.
  • Capsule illumination changes color to show heat setting: When in Scalp protect mode, this feature ensures that the LED light color will automatically change between yellow (low heat), to orange (medium heat) and red (high heat), depending on the distance the machine is from the head.
  • Attachment learning remembers styling preferences: This allows adapting a user's usual styling mode, remembering the last heat and airflow settings for each styling attachment, and automatically applying them in the next use.
  • Pause detect for easier routines: The hair dryer also has a motion-sensing accelerometer that automatically deactivates the heater, decreasing airflow and noise, when you are in between styling passes.

The following are thse new attachments also unveiled by Dyson:
