Rides start at PHP 50 in Metro Manila

According to a report by Philstar, Maxim has announced the launch of its motorcycle rides in the country. This was after joining a pilot program that aims to develop motorcycle transportation in the National Capital Region.

The company said it was also granted a TNC license and a car transportation permit from the Department of Transportation and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. This means that Maxim can also offer taxi rides and private car rides in some cities.

Booking a motorcycle ride can be done through Maxim’s app. MotoTaxi rate starts at PHP 50 in Metro Manila.

The company said its motorcycle riders were trained in its own training center. Both the driver and passenger are also insured in case of any accidents, it noted.

Opting for the new Taxi rate will get you an official taxi car, and the price of your ride will be calculated by a taximeter. If you compare the ride price for the same route with other companies, you’ll see that Maxim’s price is lower due to the low-cost booking fee, the report also said.

Aside from NCR, Maxim said this rate is already available in Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan-de-Oro, Iligan, and Iloilo.

For Maxim's Car rate, private car services are available in Iloilo and Bacolod. The ride price is calculated automatically according to the distance of the optimal route and remains fixed, regardless of the travel time.

Prior to this, Maxim has been offering mostly delivery services across 18 cities in the country since 2020.

After securing all necessary permits, Maxim said it plans to introduce passenger transportation rates and expand its operations.
