DJI has a new mini drone for vloggers, content creators, and anyone who wants their first drone—the DJI NEO.

A capable tiny drone?
According to the company, the DJI NEO is specifically designed for content creators and non-drone experienced users. It is said to be a "truly" zero-threshold" drone with no remote controller needed, can minimize safety concerns, has automatic tracking and filming, and can be used to be the user's "personal photographer".
The device is just 135 grams light making it the smallest and lightest drone ever created by the company. It is said to be extremely portable for anyone who wants to capture aerial footage on the go.

It can record 4K 30fps videos and more as well as "intelligent" Follow and QuickShots. The drone is also said to be designed for easy close-range flight making it "perfect" for capturing and sharing everyday moments.
For stabilization, it uses a single-axis mechanical gimbal, combined with RockSteady and HorizonBalancing stabilization, and it is capable of handling high-speed or large-amplitude flight, as well as up to Level-4 wind conditions.
DJI claims that the stabilization algorithms significantly reduce overall image shakes and correct horizon tilt within ±45°, for smooth and stable footage.
The drone also has AI algorithms. With just a flight of your finger, the NEO can automatically film for its users. It also has a total of six (6) intelligent shooting modes like Dronie, Circle, Spotlight, Rocket, Helix, and Boomerang.
- Dronie - The drone flies backward and ascends, with the camera locked on the subject, and records a video.
- Circle - The drone circles around the subject.
- Rocket - The drone ascends with the camera pointing downward.
- Spotlight - The drone rotates while keeping the object of interest within the frame
- Helix - The drone ascends and spirals around the subject.
The machine also has palm take-off and landing capability, unlike traditional drones that require a dedicated launch or landing area. This feature also eliminates the need for a remote controller and comes with a generally user-friendly design for all skill levels.
For further controls, the NEO could be paired with the DJI Fly app, remote controllers, RC Motion, DJI Goggles, and more for increased flight and camera control.
The DJI NEO supports WiFi connection for smartphones and Control Neo using virtual joysticks on the DJI Fly app interface up to 50 meters.
It also has the "Hey Fly" voice control on the DJI Fly App to pilot the NEO with spoken flight directives.
The app also allows users to set the tracking angle and distance, giving them the freedom to shoot from afar or up close as needed.
With the DJI RC-N3, users can achieve a maximum video transmission distance of 10 kilometers. It also has manual control of the camera using the RC control sticks for "professional-quality" shots.
It is paired with 22GB internal storage allowing users to record up to 40 minutes of high-quality 4K/30fps video or 55 minutes of 1080p/60fps video.
It can also record sound using the DJI through the DJI Mic which can be connected to your phone or directly through the phone's built-in microphone.
The DJI Fly app also automatically removes propeller noise and combines your audio with your footage.
For connectivity, the device has WiFi to transfer files, edit, and share videos easily to the DJI Fly app.
The mini drone has up to 18 minutes of flight time and can perform over 20 consecutive launches and landings from your palm. It can also be charged via USB Type-C data cable and has the DJI Neo Two-Way Charging hub to simultaneously charge three batteries.
