Leak: Xiaomi is working on its own tri-fold smartphone

After HUAWEI and TECNO's unveiling, it seems Xiaomi is on its way to releasing its own tri-fold smartphone.

Based on the patent filed by Xiaomi at China's State Intellectual Property Office reveals the phone maker is developing a tri-fold. The published listing showed there is an application number of 2022308530675.

For now, there's no specific model name yet but there's a rumor that it will be part of the Mix series.

The listing also shows the phone's design. If you notice it has a similar Z-shape folding as the HUAWEI Mate XT Ultimate Edition. You can also spot the horizontally positioned rear cameras comprising three 3 modules.

The image also suggests the tri-fold will be slightly thicker than HUAWEI's although there's still time for them to catch up and improve the folding mechanism and thickness to match its competitors.
