Apple reveals iPad Mini (2024): A17 Pro, up to 512GB storage, Apple Intelligence, starts at PHP 34,990

Apple launched the 2024 version of iPad mini last night bringing some upgrades from the predecessor.

Among the improvements we've seen is the Apple A17 Pro chip which is found on the iPhone 15 Pro Series. This uses a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine.

It still has an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina IPS LC screen with 2266 x 1488 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 3:2 aspect ratio.

Apple remained silent about the RAM but they now upgraded the base storage to 128GB while retaining memory configurations of 256GB and 512GB.

For battery, it uses 19.3WHr capacity which can last up to 10 hours of web surfing or watching videos. It also charges using a 20W USB-C power brick provided in the box.

Supports stylus

Apple also has kept the 12MP sensors for both rear and selfies but you can expect better ISP from A15 Pro chip's Smart HDR 4 support.

Other features are stereo speakers and 2x microphones.

Connectivity-wise, there's the optional cellular model with 5G or you can select WiFi only which is upgraded to WiFi 6E with 2x2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.3.

For OS, it runs iPadOS 18 with Apple Intelligence.

Currently, it is available in the US but you can view the listing on the Apple PH website. Official Apple resellers should likely announce availability soon.
