Samsung Galaxy A16 5G launched: Exynos 1330, 50MP main cam, and 6 years OS upgrades

Samsung launches the Galaxy A16 5G with very long software support.

The phone features a typical Galaxy design and is available in Midnight Blue, Turquoise, and Gray colorways.

In front, the device has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate.

Inside, the phone is powered by a 2.4GHz 5nm Exynos 1330 chip with Mali-G68 MP2 GPU for Europe region. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage.

Meanwhile, the phone is reportedly going to offer a lower chipset Dimensity 6300 for India and Thailand markets.

The phone's design

For battery, it comes with a 5,000mAh capacity and supports USB-C and 25W fast charging.

In terms of imaging, the phone uses a 50MP main camera + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro helper. On the selfie side, it uses a 13MP front shooter.

Other features noted are a side-mounted fingerprint reader and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

Connectivity-wise, it has 5G, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual SIM.

For OS, the Samsung Galaxy A16 runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 skin on top. Samsung also takes pride it is offering up to 6 years of OS upgrades which is rarely seen on midrange devices.

It is currently available in France. However, Samsung hasn't mentioned of a PH availability just yet. We will you know if it will come to the Philippines.
