Bloomberg reports that after the iPhone 16 series and Watch Series 10 were banned from sale in Indonesia, Apple pledged to invest in a new facility there.
In early October, the Indonesian government banned the sale of the recently released iPhone 16 series and the Apple Watch Series 10 in the country because the company failed to comply with local import requirements.
Nearly a month later, Google's Pixel series was also banned.
In a recent development, Bloomberg News claims that Apple will invest USD 10 Million (around PHP 583 Million) in a new factory in Bandung, Indonesia. It will be made alongside Apple's local supplier Yageo Corporation. The new facility will reportedly be dedicated to building accessories and components for Apple devices.
Apple submitted the investment proposal to the Indonesian Ministry of Industry and is awaiting approval and clearance for the iPhone 16 series to be sold in the country.
Will this be enough?
