Take full advantage of Thunderbolt 5's speeds
The previous generation Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable featured a black braided design and is available in 1.8m or 3.0m variants. It supports Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 4 data transfer of up to 40Gb/s and USB 3 data transfer of up to 10Gb/s, DisplayPort Video output (HBR3), and charging up to 100W.
The newly released Thunderbolt 5 Pro Cable features a similar black braided design that supposedly coils without tangling. It supports data transfer up to 120Gb/s, Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 4 data transfer up to 80GB/s, USB 3 data up to 10Gb/s, DisplayPort 2.1, and charging up to 240W.
Note that a single Thunderbolt 5 port can power up to three 4K monitors at 144Hz or two 8K monitors. So, this cable could be beneficial for users with multiple high-resolution monitors.
Lastly, Apple listed on the page that users can Daisy-chain up to six Thunderbolt (USB-C) devices.
What is interesting is the significant price drop of the new Thunderbolt 5 when compared to the Thunderbolt 4 cables.
